President Muhammadu has appointed his Minister of External Affairs during his military era, Ibrahim Gambari, as his Chief of staff.

According to TheCable, Gambari, a professor of political science and Nigeria’s former permanent representative to the United Nations (UN), will be announced as the new Chief of staff, replacing the late Abba Kyari.

He will be presented during the virtual meeting of the federal executive council (FEC) on Wednesday.

Although his appointment has not been officially announced, TheCable confirmed from presidency sources that he will replace Late Kyari.

Gambari, from Ilorin, Kwara state, was minister of external affairs when Buhari was military head of state in 1983-85.
