Some residents of Kastina State on Saturday blocked the highway passing through Jibia community to Katsina, the state capital, and other parts of the state to protest against daily attacks, kidnappings and rape by bandits.
The people, who according to SaharaReporters are from Yangayya district, obstruct vehicular movements, leaving motorists stranded.
The vowed neither to return home nor leave the highways until federal government and state government take action to protect them from the bandits.
Katsina, home state of President Muhammadu Buhari has been under banditry attacks since 2018 with renewed attacks claiming over several lives while scores are injured.
