Engr. Dr. Taofeeq Olayinka Ayinde, an Osun 2018 Governorship aspirant under the platform of All Progressives Congress has declared that Governance has eluded the masses of Nigeria for a very long time.
Dr. Ayinde made this known on Thursday in an interview with Insight Media Crew in Osogbo, the state capital.
The Iwo-born politician commended the government of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola in Osun for being the pacesetter in the infrastructural development in the state, adding that he will make them sustainable development programmes, if given the mandate to serve the state come 2018.
“Governance has eluded the people of Nigeria for a very long time. We need a system that will favour the young and the old in the country”. He said.
“Aregbesola’s administration has really done well in the infrastructural development for the state and if by God’s grace I am given the mandate to succeed him come 2018, I will make sure we make them sustainable development policies through continuity. Governance is continuity”. He added
While commenting on the President Muhammadu Buhari’s reign, the Academician commended the President for not disappointing the people that voted for him in 2015 by delivering over 70% of what he promised them.
He said “In the year 2015, President Buhari’s Presidential campaign was based on three agenda which are; Corruption eradication, insecurity and economy revival. We all know that the process of prosecuting corrupt individuals in tedious and largely not in the hands of the executive. But it is obvious that he has really tried his best in bringing the perpetrators to book. Considering insurgency, he has won that almost completely.
“Rebuilding of economy is not easy but as we can the Office of Vice President that heads the economy team has really done a very great job in bringing us out of recession. So to me, Buhari has done well.
He promised to run an all-inclusive government that will empower the youths whom he describes as the greatest asset this country parades.
