In 2018, the good people of Osun State massively voted for Governor Gboyega Oyetola who rode on IleriOluwa mantra under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC. Since his assumption of office twenty-four months ago, the Governor has shown unimaginable capacity, administrative acumen and unrelenting penchant for positive transformation of the state that is widely believed to be at the lowest ebb in terms of financial muscles.

Months after months, governance has continued to be redefined as several unprecedented actions have been taken with intentions to make lives better for young and old, civil servants and businessmen, artisans and entrepreneurs.

Topmost of his agenda is prompt payment of workers’ salaries while Osun has also become one of the six states across the country that’s paying the new minimum wage. This has reawakened the dying spirit of Osun work force and improved their standards of living. An epiphany to this is multiple rally and shows of support displayed by Osun civil servants. This also goes to the senior citizens, the pensioners.

In the area of quality health delivery, Osun was recently ranked second among the thirty-six states of the country in terms quality health care service to her citizens, by a private firm. All electoral wards are to have new or rehabilitated primary health centers. Out of 325 wards, over 300 have been completed. This makes Osun health care delivery to be a role model for other states as many states have sent delegation to understudy the ingenuity of Governor Gboyega Oyetola. Osun’s response to COVID-19 was aided by the way the Governor handled healthcare and infrastructural development before the advent of the pandemic. A pointer to this is the revitalization of the General hospital, Ejigbo and reconstruction of the Ede-Ejigbo road prior to February 2020.

While Oyetola was doing all the above, the infrastructural development has also witnessed a boom as several roads, bridges and government buildings are wearing new looks. Osun has become economically viable and ready to host businesses as security of lives and properties occupies a space in the heart of Mr Governor.
