Two graduates of the Osun State University (UNIOSUN) have died, while two others sustained injuries in an accident on the Lokoja-Abuja road, The Nation has learnt.
It was gathered that the graduates were posted on Wednesday by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to Kaduna State, to undergo the 21-day orientation course, when the crash occurred.
It was learnt that the prospective corps members hired a Toyota Sienna space bus from Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, to Kaduna.
UNIOSUN spokesman Ademola Adesoji confirmed the accident to our correspondent.
He said four students of the institution were involved in the accident but only two died while other were rushed to hospital.
“Four of our ex-students were involved. Three of them are male and one female. Two died in the accident. But we spoke with the two that survived and monitored their movement up to hospital.
“Our Students Affairs unit also notified the NYSC leadership and the management responded immediately. The two that died were heading to Kaduna NYSC Orientation Camp. The four of them travelled in a vehicle they hired from Osogbo,” he said.
