As the jostling for the next Olufon of Ifon-Orolu gets hotter, the Olaojo Ruling House has called on the Kingmakers and the State Government under the leadership of Governor Gboyega Oyetola to ensure they follow the dictates of the law in the selection process.

The ruling House, which comprises of Moronfolu and Odunolu
Lq made this call on Friday in a communique issued after an emergency meeting. The communique was signed by Prince Sule Adeyooye, Head of Olaojo Ruling House; Prince Wahab Oyegbile, Assistant Head of Olaojo Ruling; and Prince Raheed Adekunle, General secretary of the House.

The Ruling House described the attack on one of his sons, Prince Jide Akinyooye as handworks of some agents of misrepresentations. They clarified that the there is no leadership crisis in Ruling House.

The communique reads,  “We unanimously clarify that the recent call by the Ifon-Orolu Progressive Union that the Osun State Government should expedite the process of installing new Olufon of Ifon-Orolu is well supported by the entire OLAOJO Ruling House and all progressive minded people of Ifon-Orolu.

“The Olaojo Ruling House is comprised of MORONFOLU and ODUNOLU Royal Families and both families have been holding their joint meeting since over a century. Also, there is no leadership crises in OLAOJO RULING HOUSE that comprises of Prince Wahab Oyegbile – Head of Odunolu & Alhaji (Prince) Sule Akinyooye – Head of Moronfolu and overall Head of Olaojo Ruling House.

“There is no way that the aliens can know the existence and activities of Olaojo Ruling House because they have never been part of the family. For better clarification, we want the public to understand that the State Government through the old Irepodun Local Government addressed and forwarded a copy of the 1988 Olufon Chieftaincy Declaration to The Head of OLAOJO Ruling House, Ifon-Osun on October, 1988 after it was duly approved and registered by the State Government as contained in a letter with Reference No: ILG/178/Vol.II/31.

“The public should note that the installation of a new Olufon will be guided by law and the subsisting 1988 Olufon Chieftaincy Declaration which has never been set aside by any Court of law or amended, and which still remains the extant law to install the next Olufon of Ifon-Osun. We challenge anybody that claimed that the 1988 Olufon Chieftaincy Declaration was ever set aside to come forward with such proof; when such prayer was not part of the matter in the relevant case. The reality in accordance with extant law is that the right of both Moronfolu and Odunolu Royal Families are guaranteed to produce the next Olufon of Ifon-Orolu.

“There has been NEVER anything like Odunolu-Olurombi family in any of the Olufon Declarations. Also, the Odunolu Royal Family we all know are the one living within Olufon’s Compound, while the so-called Odunolu-Olurombi are the migrant from Balogun-Agoro Compound in Osogbo, who later established Baloguns Compound in Ifon-Osun.

“The entire Olufon Royal Family has debunked the relationship of the so-called Odunolu-Olurombi relationship with Olufon Royal Family and they have taken the matter to the Osogbo High Court ever before the death of late Oba Al-Maroof Adekunle Magbagbeola Olumoyero II.

The Olaojo Ruling House and the entire people of Ifon-Orolu have great confidence in the impartiality of the incumbent administration of His Excellency, Alhaji Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola, the Executive Governor of Osun State. We trust that the current administration will not politizice the process as expected by a few dissident people that have pleasure in illegalities.
Finally, the Olaojo Ruling House believe that the fact that errors were committed in the past does not mean that such should be repeated.”

The House hopes that issues will be resolved as soon as possible.
