The State Coordinator National Youth Service Corps in Osun State, Mr. Emmanuel Attah, has revealed that 81 Prospective Corps Members mobilised for the national service were turned back on health grounds.

Attah, who disclosed this while briefing the representative of Director General of the scheme in Ede on Wednesday, added that 26 prospective corps members were also turned back on marital ground.

The NYSC boss however lamented that some corps members with health challenges were hiding their health statuses and did not seek treatment at the camp clinic.

The NYSC Boss urged those who are asthmatic and living with other health related conditions to visit the camp clinic for treatment, saying medical personnel from the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife; and corps doctors were always available to attend to them.

He said, “Your health status cannot prevent you from serving your fatherland.

“Your parents have committed you into our care and we are duty-bound to take proper care of you.

“But it is unfortunate that some of you have some health conditions but you are hiding them from us.

“We have doctors from the OAUTHC as well as corps doctors at the clinic, but you don’t go there.
