Alhaji Azeez Kolade, an oil Magnate and Managing Director Azkol Oil international has called on all residents and indigenes of Ilobu in Irepodun local government and Osun state in general who will be participating in the July 16 governorship election to conduct themselves peacefully before, during and after the polls.
Kolade, who is the Aare Musulumi of Ilobu land disclosed this in a press statement issued by he personally signed on Thursday and made available to newsmen in Osogbo, the state capital.
The Businessman stressed that development can only be achieved in a peaceful environment.
According to him, the peace of Osun as a state should be the primary duty of every resident for all the dividends of democracy to manifest.
“There is no way for people to enjoying dividends of democracy where there is no peace and living harmoniously ”
He also advised all residents of voting-age in the state to perform their civic duties during the July 16 gubernatorial election to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner with a view to allowing the process to be hitch-free.
Aare Musulumi of Ilobu also admonished the political heads of all parties participating in the election to call all their members to order and tutor them on the need to conduct themselves in manners not likely to cause breach of current peace in Ilobuland and Osun state is known for.
While charging all spiritual leaders in the state to continue praying for a peaceful electoral process in the forthcoming governorship election in the State, Kolade emphasised the need to make the election rancour-free.
