Adegboyega Oyetola, the All Progressives Congress candidate for Governorship in the Osun State election held on July 16 has granted approval by the  from the Election Petition Tribunal to serve Senator Ademola Adeleke, the People’s Democratic Party’s candidate and the newly elected governor, with notice of the petition via alternative means.

Oyetola has challenged the Independent National Electoral Commission and the Peoples Democratic Party after contesting Adeleke’s election victory before the Tribunal.

At its first meeting on Monday in Osogbo, the tribunal also approved a motion ex parte filed for an order directing the scrutiny of documents held by the first respondent, the  Independent National Electoral Commission.

Oyetola and the APC’s attorney, Mr Yomi Aliyu, had informed the tribunal hearing, which was presided over by Justice Tertsea Kume and Justice Benedict Ogbuli, that a bailiff assigned the assignment could not serve Adeleke notice of the case.

The individual who the bailiff went to serve at the PDP candidate’s residence in Ede refused to give him the papers, according to  Aliyu’s further explanation.

He further stated to the panel that he preferred the notification be posted on the notice board outside the tribunal’s meeting location.

In his decision on the two motions, Justice Kume granted Oyetola’s requests for relief and mandated that the notice be posted on the notice board outside the tribunal’s meeting location.

Additionally, he agreed to the petitioners’ requests to scan the voter rolls and election ballots.
