All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) National Chairman Victor Oye has called for a three-day prayer and fasting period in response to the deaths of two members at the Anambra House of Assembly.
Following the passing of Nnamdi Okafor, the majority leader of the house, last Thursday while on an official trip to South Africa, Oye made this remark on Thursday in Awka.
About two months after Okechukwu Okoye (APGA-Aguata Constituency 1) passed away, Okafor, who represented Awka South 1 State Constituency, too passed away mysteriously.
“As 2023 approaches, I implore Anambra residents in general and APGA members, in particular, to begin a 3-day fast and pray for growth over the developments at the House and in our party.
The dangerous times we are living in necessitate daily prayer, introspection, and repentance.
He remarked, “I see God doing something fresh in the house shortly. The leadership of the Anambra House of Assembly should join in the prayer and fasting.”
Oye expressed his condolences for the sudden passing of the majority leader together with Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Speaker Uche Okafor, and members of the legislature.
He asked God to comfort his immediate family members who had passed away, the residents of Awka South 1, and to grant him eternal rest in heaven.
