A former Chairman of Osun State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party has be inaugurated as the Director-general of the Atiku-Okowa presidential campaign council in the State.
The inauguration of the presidential campaign team was performed by the Governor-elect and leader of the party in the state, Senator Ademola Adeleke on Wednesday, at Imole House, Osogbo.
Addressing the party faithful, Adeleke said, ” we are gathered here to inaugurate the presidential campaign council of His Excellency Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa.
He said “Atiku has the the mandate to lead the country into a better future, and as the Governor-Elect, We have a task to lead the way in electing Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria come February 2023”.
“Nigeria needs an Atiku presidency because he has the most updated, relevant and responsive manifesto among all presidential contenders. His plan for Nigeria fits into the aspirations of Osun people for restructuring of the Federation, for local government autonomy, for anti-corruption, for better infrastructure, for national unity in diversity and for good governance.
“Our votes must go for Atiku Abubakar because he is the most tested and trusted with sterling records of performance in and out of government. A combination of Atiku Abubakar and Dr Okowa at the presidency will take Nigeria to a prosperous level locally and internationally.”
Senator Ademola Adeleke and his deputy were elected as the chairman and vice chairman of the Council while Hon Sunday Bisi, was inaugurated as The Director General, Atiku-Okowa Presidential Campaign Management Committee.
In Bisi’s address, he said “Today marks another milestone in our journey to salvage the fast nosediving motherland, Nigeria from the brinks of total crash”.
“Therefore, as we have turned the page against enemies of humanity in our dear state, the wave is expected to sweep through the entire nation for a new dawn. And we have a task to make it happen”.
“We have a task of cementing the heroics of our people at the last Governorship Election in the state. We have a task to cushion the seat of leadership of the state for the Governor-Elect in our State. We have a task to lead the way in electing Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria come February 2023”.
Commending the Presidential Candidate, he said “Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is a goldfish and he is not hiding for the task at hand. He is the most experienced of all the contenders in the coming election. He has belled the cat of a prepared candidate”.
“Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, since his emergence as the Candidate of our great party has demonstrated beyond doubts, he is prepared for the job he seeks from Nigerians”.
“He has updated his policy documents in partnership with avalanche of best brains amongst our teeming youths, to ingrain the present realities of dear nation”.
“He has advanced security as the main thrust of his agenda and we cannot agree with him less. The country is sinking on cracking security basement, requiring a pan Nigerian patriot like Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for retrieval intervention”, he added.
However, he said, “the party in Osun State, is poised to lead the way and galvanize support of our people to deliver Nigeria with an overwhelming victory”.
‘If there’s any entity in the country the National Leadership of our party can count on for a bumper harvest of votes, Osun will stand to be counted”.
In his cryptic message to the APC over the 1milllion March held for its principal last week in Osogbo, Bisi the ruling party members as “jesters”.
“While we won’t be tempted to join issues with jesters in APC promising their candidate a phantom one million votes in the state, I urge the campaign council stakeholders to stand up to the reckless joke and put them in their place as we did on July 16.”
