…donates the sum of Five Million Naira
In celebration of the 2023 Armed Forces Remembrance Day and launching of the emblem, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State said his administration will expand the level of partnership with both serving and retired military men in order to reform the security architecture of the State.
January 15 is dedicated to celebrate the sacrifices of the military men and to also remember the fallen heroes among them.
Speaking at the event, Adeleke said his administration will give special recognition to the retired military men and expand existing level of relationship with them.
“The stability of the nation rests on the gallantry, patriotism and sacrifice of the security and military services. Service personnel of the armed forces in particular are in many volatile sectors of the society confronting and curtailing open and subtle threats to the territorial integrity of the country. That we must live, many offered their precious lives”
“Today, I recommit to the well being of our service personnel. Our veterans and their families will continue to receive our support in recognition of their service to the fatherland”.
“It is on this note that I launch the appeal fund for the 2023 Emblem for the Armed Forces Remembrance Day with a sum of Five Million Naira” Gov. Adeleke said.
The Governor also launched the emblem with a sum of five million naira.
Speaking at the event, Chairman Nigerian Legion, Osun State Comrade Oladipo Abioye Peter, who appreciate and honour his fallen colleagues who lost their lives while defending the integrity of our Nation, in order to stay united and in peace.
He said “I appreciate, honour and remember the services rendered by those who laid down their lives and those who became maimed and permanently disabled for all to have enshrined National global peace Once again, I thank you all”.
Comr. Peter also used the opportunity to make some long standing requests on vital issues of importance to the advancement of the Nigerian Legion in Osun State.
