Ancelotti and Hazard

Eden Hazard has revealed his relationship with Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has completely broken down to the point the pair don’t communicate with each other.

The Belgian international left Chelsea in the summer of 2019 to test himself in LaLiga with Los Blancos after securing a mega-money £100m move, but things have not gone to plan and Hazard has severely underwhelmed. The talented attacker has played a pitiful 98 league minutes this season and has just one year left to run on his current contract.

Hazard’s lack of game-time certainly isn’t anything to do with injury, with the former Stamford Bridge favourite fully fit for the majority of the campaign. Instead, manager Ancelotti simply doesn’t view the two-time Premier League winner as a useful option.

Hazard recently discussed his relationship with his boss and confessed that while he will always respect Ancelotti, the pair are no longer communicating.

“There is respect between us,” the 32-year-old told Belgian outlet RTBF. “But I’m not going to say that we talk to each other, because we don’t talk to each other.

“But there will always be respect. Even if he doesn’t make me play tomorrow… I have to have respect for a guy like Carlo Ancelotti. In what he represents for football, what he has done in his career. No problem.”

Hazard has already confirmed that he plans on seeing out the remainder of his Madrid deal, regardless of the fact that for as long as Ancelotti is at the helm the winger is unlikely to see much action.

While he has spoken of the fact he harbours the confidence required to turn things around at the Santiago Bernabeu, Hazard did concede he has the right to have some doubts considering how little he has been used under Ancelotti.

“If I doubt? I have the right to doubt, no. It’s been three months since he made me play. I doubt a little. It’s up to me to show him in training that he can call on me,” Hazard added.

While it would at first appear that Hazard has taken his demise rather gracefully, signs of frustration towards Ancelotti did appear as he signed off his comments by claiming: “I probably deserve less in his eyes than others. You should ask him.”
