The Osun State Labour movement has described the insinuation around payment of workers’ salaries for the month of April and promotion arrears as “rumour by unscrupulous elements who are enemies of Osun workers”.

Comrade (Dr.) Christopher Abimbola Arapasopo, State Chairman Nigeria Civil Service Union made this known in a statement obtained by InsightMedia on Sunday night.

Arapasopo said the union is aware that some of its members from the local government level have received their allowance, stating that a “technical hitch” on the part of First Bank delayed that of State work force.

The statement reads, “We debunk this barefaced lie and unequivocally state as follows:

“That the Osun State Government has effected the payment of April, 2023 salary of its workers since Friday 28th April, 2023.

“That the employees of Local Government across the State have started receiving their salaries alert from the above mentioned date

That the little delay with that of the State Workers is as a result of a minor technological issue being experienced by First Bank Plc and has already been resolved.

That the State Workers will start receiving their salary alert as from Tomorrow Monday, 1st of May 2023 which incidentally is an historical day to the Osun Workers.

That the “say and do” Governor of the State, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has also effected the April salary with the outstanding promotion(s) of the Osun State Workers.

“At this juncture, the Labour movement wishes to assure the entire workers that the Administration of Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke will leave no stone unturned to ensure that the welfare and wellbeing of its workers are given the upmost deserved attention.”
