Famous Premier League referee, Mike Dean has decided to quit the Professional Game Match Officials Board (PGMOL).
This brings to an end his 28-year career in English football.
Dean worked last season as a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) after his high-profile career as a referee in the top league.
However, the 55-year-old will no longer officiate Premier League games after deciding to depart.
The UK Telegraph claims Dean was found “unsuited to VAR duties” after “showdown talks” with PGMOL chief Howard Webb.
Dean started officiating in 1985 and was promoted to the Premier League in 2000.
He went on to oversee more than 550 matches before retiring as an on-field referee in 2022
