Liverpool legend, Graeme Souness has questioned Arsenal’s decision to sign Kai Havertz for £65m from Chelsea this summer.

Arsenal recently signed Havertz from Chelsea in a five-year contract.

Havertz leaves a Chelsea team that finished in the second half on the Premier League table last season.

However, Souness was surprised by Arsenal’s move for Havertz.

“I don’t think anyone would have spent £65m for Kai Havertz based on what we have seen from him over the last couple of years at Chelsea,” Souness told the Sky Bet Fan Hope Survey.

“Mikel Arteta must feel that he can improve Havertz because he was not a £65m player last year.

“Maybe I’m being tough on him because he was in a struggling Chelsea team but good players still turn up whether their team is struggling or not.”
