Renowned Professor of History and International Relations, Siyan Oyeweso has congratulated the immediate past Governor of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola on his nomination as Minister by President Bola Tinubu.
Oyeweso, in a letter personally signed by him on Thursday, a copy of which was obtained by InsightMedia in Osogbo, described the nomination of former Osun helmsman as a reward for hard work and dedication.
The letter partly read, “I heartily congratulate you on your appointment as Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I am particularly happy for your landmark achievement for two cogent reasons. First, your political life succinctly demonstrated that it is possible to operate with highest ethical standards in public office. The common good of the collective was your guiding principle in the choice of your public policy thrusts. Your political life epitomizes the assertion of Prof. Iyourwuese Hagher, the former Nigeria High Commissioner to Canada, that politics without ethics is hypocrisy in action, while politics with ethics is morality in practice’.
“Second, and most importantly, is that God is a rewarder of those who diligently serve Him. The diligence, integrity, justice, fairness and equity amply exemplified in your administration as Executive Governor of Osun State marks you out as a distinguished leader. As the Executive Governor of Osun State, you demonstrated uncommon zeal for the socio economic development of the people and promoted inter religious and community relations that has become a cornerstone of unity in Osun State today.
“I am grateful that God has rewarded your efforts for good governance in Osun State and I have no doubt that you will bring your experience onboard at the National level for the common good of the people.
I also thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the way he has led Nigeria with purpose since he assumed the mantle of leadership and for assembling great minds as his team that will deliver the dividends of the Renewed Hope Agenda.”
Oyeweso prayed to God to grant Oyetola health and wisdom required to excel in his news assignment.
