.. Says, “Manipulate 2019 Election And Face The Consequences”

Sequel to the forthcoming 2019 General election in Nigeria, a priest with the African Church and a public affairs analyst, Rev’d Richard Peters has challenge the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) based on their purported plans to rig the 2019 General elections in favor of APC.

Rev’d Peters made this known while addressing the people of Ikot Obiobo, Ikot Okubo, Ward 6 in Uyo Local Government Area.

The clergyman, who confirmed INEC’s plan on ensuring they rig the elections in toto in favour of the broom party, noted that PDP is tuned in with the ugly development and will ensure INEC to face the consequences, if they play by the dirty agenda.

” We have been signalled INEC’s move to manipulate the general elections in favour of APC, if they do not care, let them go ahead. But, INEC should be ready to face the consequences of their pre-planned actions,” he bursted.

He warned the indigenes against taking the upcoming elections to the extreme, advising that elections are not meant to be a do or die affairs as some individuals have claimed.

The man of God who also hails from Ikot Okubo maintained that the interest of the community remains topmost in their affairs or dealings and cannot be traded for anything, not even for any selfish interest.

Lamenting that the community had since wallowed in darkness without provisions of basic amenities due to the ineptitude of the previous administration to cater for the needs of the people, he said it was time the people took critical decisions for posterity sake.

He further advised the people to support leaders judging from their track records and their consistency in delivering on their promises, pointing out that the present administration has not disappointed Uyo people going by his scorecards.

He expressed optimism that with Governor Udom’s administration, things will work out, most especially, as he has brought in and sustained peace in the State, saying “we need peace and not fight or war.”

The Chairman of the Community youth Council, Mr Imo Nse thanked Rev. Peters for his contributions and love shown the community.

Nse, who said that the community has contributed immensely to the growth of the State, lamented that no single project has ever been executed in the community by the present and the previous administrations.

He added, ” they have always labelled us an opposition community and have continued to deny us our rights and even the opposition they claim we belong, we still gain nothing. Our community has just been neglected for no just reason.”
