Abokede stated that whatever spheres of life women found themselves, they should be good ambassadors of any sector they represent.

“Women should be good representatives of any institution they represent, be it political position, appointments or any electives, they should be good ambassadors. We must not be found wanting, we must be good examples, we must lead by examples, and be kind-hearted “, she explained.

” Most importantly, women must contribute positively to Nation’s building, in order to bring Nigeria to where it is supposed to be “, she said.

The Executive Director added that the gathering was also meant to celebrate the women and also see ways they can invest, empower other women for the growth and development of the country.

” This is a celebration event and also an avenue to network, we have women from agriculture, business and other spheres. We are here to learn how we can be of help to ourselves and also to Nation Building “, she explained.

Reflecting on theme of this year’s edition “invest in women, accelerate progress “, She mentioned that The Benber Foundation and WADEM will be empowering a girl and two women in order to contribute to their lives.

“In any place we find ourselves, we must make impact and be influences to other peoples lives. Now, we are going to be empowering a girl and two women, the girl has hearing and speech impairment and she has been out of school for four years, now we are giving her scholarship to go back to school to further her education .

“We also have two women, who need assistance for there businesses, we will be empowering them, so as to make a living for themselves and also for their families”, Abokede said.

She also encouraged women to support other women who are in need and spend wisely in order to avert some other peoples needs.

“Women should support other women, enough of gossips, there should be empowerment within ourselves, let’s be in unity, one accord that’s how we are going to build the Nation”.

“Those that do extravagant parties, should try to reduce the cost of the expenses and use the money to assist one or two persons in the community that needs help”,

One of the participants, Mrs Omolara Ajayi, decried the low participation of women inclusion in politics and urged for more participation and support for the men.

“If you check the number of women in politics today, most especially the Osun State House of Assembly, there are low participation of women. We want more women to participate, there should be inclusion, what a man’s brain can do, a woman can as well. Let us also support our women that are working”, she said.

A development worker, Mr Babatunde Omole charges the younger females on values reorientation and self realisation. He urged the younger females to have fear of God and do things the right way.
