Senator representing Kogi Central, Ahmed Ogembe on Friday survived a ghastly accident on his way to Okene, his home town to cast his vote.
The accident occurred along Lokoja-Abuja road in Gegu community, Kotonkarfe local government area, around 9am in the morning.
Duke Opeyemi, special adviser to the Senator on Media and publicity, confirmed the incident while speaking with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lokoja on Friday.
Ogembe is seeking re-election under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party in the Saturday polls.
Opeyemi said the lawmaker and other people on board came out unhurt even as the vehicle somersaulted several times.
The Senator however expressed his gratitude to God for saving him and other occupants of the vehicle.
