The Joint National Association of Persons With Disabilities has urged the Osun government to take immediate action to implement the provisions of the bill, particularly in the ongoing teacher’s recruitment exercise.

According to the statement signed by the Association’s chairman, Stephen Oluwafemi, called on the government to ensure that persons with disabilities are given fair representation and equal opportunities in the recruitment process.

Oluwafemi said, “The implementation of this bill will not only improve the lives of persons with disabilities but also enhance the socio-economic development of Osun State.

” We, therefore, appeal to the government to ensure inclusive recruitment processes in all state government agencies, provide reasonable accommodations and support services for persons with disabilities, and allocate sufficient resources for the implementation of the bill.

While commending the Government for signing the Disability Bill into law.

He reiterated that the State Government should take prompt action to implement the Disability Bill for a more inclusive society.
