Comedian, Gbadamasi Jonathan, popularly known as MC Edopikin, is set to stage his show tagged, ‘Edo in Eko’ at the Eko Hotel and Suites on Victoria Island, Lagos.
He stated that the event will feature a vibrant blend of comedy and music, celebrating the rich cultural exchange between Edo and Lagos states.
The entertainer also said, “The show is aimed at promoting cultural integration between the talents in Edo and Lagos states, because there is a strong historical background between the two cultures. The show also aims to promote the rich, strong, and unflinching Edo culture that we are proud of while showcasing young and emerging talents.”
He went on to express his belief in the power of comedy to elevate the Edo cultural brand, citing the global success of Edo-born entertainers such as Rema and Sir Victor Uwaifo, as examples.
He added that the show promises to be a cultural extravaganza, showcasing the historical connection between these two prominent Nigerian talent hubs.
According to him, the show will feature emerging talents from Edo State, promising a diverse and dynamic lineup.
A statement sent to Saturday Beats read, “Performers for the event include Wande Coal and Skales; as well as a host of comedy talents, such as Akaba, DeStalker, Acapella, Akpororo, Koboko Master, MC Casino, Sarkin Daria, MC Yanist, Magnito, MC Dasaint, Young Chief, and Mop.”
