Nigerian and Sparta Prague striker, Victor Olatunji, has declared he is a ‘chosen’ after scoring for his club in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.

The 25-year-old Nigerian forward made a stunning UEFA Champions League debut, propelling Sparta Prague to a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Red Bull Salzburg.

Olatunji found the back of the net just before halftime, doubling Sparta’s lead, and later provided an assist for the team’s third goal before being substituted in the 64th minute.

However, it was Olatunji’s goal celebration that truly set social media abuzz. After scoring, the Nigerian unveiled a message on his undershirt that read, “I am a Chosen, who are you?” This phrase references a popular social media trend in Nigeria related to the Lord’s Chosen church.

The Lord’s Chosen has been trending recently, with various social media posts highlighting its enormous miracles and manifestations, sparking scepticism among some Nigerians.

Meanwhile, the church’s Head of Public Relations and Media, Chidi Louis, debunked the viral footage and labelled it fabricated.

Mr. Louis was reported to have said, “Nigerians should disregard the fake video (regarding one of the testimonies by a woman in the church) and visit our church platform to listen to the complete testimony for better understanding. The woman’s story occurred in a dream, not in reality.”

He also urged Nigerians not to believe everything they see online, saying most of the content was spread by bloggers and others aiming to ridicule the work of God.
