The Independent National Electoral Commission has cancelled the planned supplementary governorship  elections in Bauchi State and directed that the collation should continue and a winner should be announced.

This was contained in a press statement signed by Mr Festus Okoye, national commissioner in charge of voter education and publicity.

The commission said the report of investigative committee set up to look into the cases revealed some irregularities among which is that the total number of votes cancelled in Ningi local government area was 2,533 and not 25,330 as recorded.
