The Government of Ekiti State has made it known that it will commence the administration of the Oxford- AstraZeneca Vaccines on the people in the state that had taken the first shots on Monday, 31st May.

Dr Oyebanji Filani, Ekiti State Commissioner for Health and Human Services, disclosed this in Ado- Ekiti.

Filani reiterated the commitment of the Kayode Fayemi-led administration to the healthcare of residents of the state, assuring that no stone would be left unturned towards curtailing the deadly virus in the state.

The commissioner solicited the support of the people of the state for government’s efforts at protecting their health as well as ensuring a healthy environment in the state.

Filani stressed the importance of wearing facemasks in the public, proper hand washing and use of hand sanitisers as well as maintaining social and physical distancing even after receiving the vaccines.

 

He equally appealed to the public to continue to cooperate with vaccinators who he noted “are providing an exceptionally important services to the state in this trying period of global pandemic that had claimed millions of lives and greatly affected livelihood.”

Filani advised residents to take advantage of the government’s gesture to get vaccinated stressing that getting immunized remained the most effective way to safeguard their health and curtail the pandemic.
