The Osun State Chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended the former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barrister Kolapo Alimi, for his alleged role in trying to disintegrate the party in the state.”
His suspension was made public via a letter jointly signed by the ward Executives, Elerin Ward 9, Irepodun Local Government Area, Erin-Osun.
In a copy of letter sighted by our Correspondent on Friday, Alimi was suspended at a meeting held on June 16, 2021, over an alleged anti-party activities.
“We review the various anti-party activities of Barrister Kolapo Moruff Alimi and we concluded that he is due for suspension.
“As the elders and stakeholders of the party have been duly carried along and he is hereby suspended from the party, APC. ”
Among the eighteen ward executive officers who signed the suspension letter are : Alhaji Adebayo Tajudeen, Chairman, Mr Ibiyemi Kayode, Vice Chairman, Adebayo Abdul Gafar, PRO, Ibrahim Saida, Organizing Secretary, Israel Pitter, Ass Treasurer and Mruf Ajimoh, Ex officio 1, among others.

In his reaction, Alimi in a statement he put on his official Facebook page, described the the suspension as a rude shock, stating that it does no go in line with the constitution of the page.
He wrote, “My attention has been drawn to my purported suspension by the APC caretaker committee for my ward, Elerin ward C, ward 9, Irepodun South LCDA, Erin-Osun, State of Osun.
“The purported suspension came to me as a rude shock because according to Article 21 of APC Constitution, “SUSPENSION” is categorized under “PUNISHMENT” and before any member could be punished, such a person ought to have been alleged of any form of misconduct against the party and ought to be given the opportunity to defend him/herself.
“In the instant case, nobody has accused me of any misconduct either orally or by writing, formally or informally. And I was not invited by any Committee of our party, either at ward, Local Government level or at State Level to come and defend any allegations whatsoever.
“However, I need to state a fact that might be the root cause of this suspension, the Chairman of my ward, who coordinated the suspension under the heavy presence of the Police today, Mr Tajudeen Adebayo a.k.a Lekosta is the immediate younger brother to S.A sanitation to Governor Gboyega Oyetola.
“Meanwhile, I need to state that, I’ve not received the purported letter of suspension, immediately I receive it, I will take appropriate action on it in line with the relevant provisions of APC Constitution and the 1999 constitution of Nigeria as amended.
“Finally, I urge all my friends, Supporters and admirers to remain calm as the suspension is a ruse that can not stand the test of time”.
