A special committee set up by the Inspector General of Police, Muhammed Adamu has visited Osun State to assess the level of damage done to police facilities across the state.
The committee, led by a Police Commissioner, Abutu Yaro arrived the state on Thursday and visited affected police stations that suffered attack during the violence that trailed #EndSARS protests.
A statement by the police public relations officer, Yemisi Opalola revealed that the team visited scenes of the incident where police facilities were destroyed such as Isale Osun area, Oja-Oba area, Oju-irin (Railway Police Station) old garage area within Osogbo and they visited the victims too.
“Furthermore, the committee visited Ile-Ife Area Command and Owena Ijesa under Ilesa Area Command among other areas visited.”
Osun Police Commissioner, Undie Adie commended the team for their selfless service, a good job well done and thanks the law abiding citizens of the state for their cooperation and support during the trying periods, while urging them not to relent in their efforts in giving useful and timely information to the police for the state to sustain the tempo of being the safest state in the country.
The committee was set up by the IGP to assess the level of damage done to police facilities across the country following the crisis that trailed the EndSARS protests in the country.
