Timothy Adegoke: Adedoyin, others arrive Osogbo as trial begins today

Founder of Hilton Hotels and Resorts, Ile-Ife, Dr Rahmon Adedoyin and six other staff alleged to have been involved in the mysterious death of a Masters degree student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile-Ife, Timothy Adegoke, have arrived Osogbo, Osun State capital for trial.

The trial begins on Thursday at Osun High Court, Osogbo.

The police has withdrawn the case from the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja and transfered to Osogbo following a request made by the counsel to the deceased’s family, Femi Falana, SAN.

Adedoyin was alleged of unlawful interference with the corpse while Adedeji Adesola, Magdalena Chiefuna, Adeniyi Aderogba, Oluwale Lawrence, Oyetunde Kazeem and Adebayo Kunle were arraigned on seven-count of conspiracy, attempted murder, murder, altering of receipt among others before the case was struck out on February 7, 2022.

A top security source said “Chief Ramon Adedoyin and other suspect have arrived Osun ahead of the commencement of thier trial on Thursday. They arrived in the state on Wednesday evening. The family of Adedoyin has hired a popular Senior Advocate of Nigeria while the deceased family hired Femi Falana.”

The public Relations Officer, Osun State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the trial of the suspects will commence on Thursday.

The elder brother of Adegoke, Gbade, also confirmed the trial of the suspects will commence on Thursday at Osun State High Court, Osogbo.(The Nation)
