The calling for the resignation of the Veteran Zimbabwe Leader, Robert Mugabe on Friday increased as leaders and members of his party voted against his continuation as President of the country.

This happened in an unprecedented move on state broadcast as several leaders of the party appeared on State Tv calling for Mugabe to quit.

The also called for the resignation of the First lady, Grace Mugabe,and for Mr Mnangagwa to be reinstated in the party’s central committee.

The party’s members agreed to mobilise support for and attend Saturday’s rally. The party is planning to hold a special central committee session over the weekend to discuss the crisis.

The Saturday’s rally is described by the Zimbabwe Defence Forces as solidarity rally to support Army’s actions in the country.

The statement went on: “ZDF is therefore advising the nation that for as long as the planned march remains orderly, peaceful… and without hate speech and incitement to cause violence, it fully supports the march.”

The rally is organized by the war veterans led by Christopher Mutsvangwa and it will be attended by thousands of Zimbabweans who are tired of Mugabe’s long time rule.
