The Chaplain to the Bishop of African Church Ondo central diocese, Reverend David Ayeola have been abducted by unknown gunmen on their way to Abeokuta, Ogun state.
The incident happened in Imoko Ekiti, Ekiti state on Thursday as ssaid by one of the top officials of the church.
The official said “This happened between 6am and 7am on Thursday. The Bishop and his team consisting of of his wife, the chaplain and the driver were traveling from Ekiti State to Abeokuta where we are having our national convention when they were waylaid.
“The team fled into the bush, but the gunmen chased them and took the chaplain who just finished his seminary.
“They have contacted the headquarters of our church and they demanded N100m. They have been negotiating but it appears they are not ready to back down on their demands.
The Ekiti State police command confirmed this when its Public Relations Officers, Adeyemi Ademola was contacted and he said the command is making all efforts to get the captive rescued.
