Dr. Ezekiel Oyebola Oyemomi, an APC gubernatorial aspirant has made it known that the industrialization of the state is the cardinal goal of his administration if he is elected the next governor of Osun State.
Dr. Oyemomi, a retired public servant and chattered accountant made this known while feilding questions from the correspondents of InsightMedia yesterday on his plans to move Osun to an enviable heights.
Oyemomi revealed that his agenda were born out of his zeal and readiness to see everyone in the State smile.
He said “Whatever the government is doing will still bring the state back to square one if we don’t industrialize this state. If is it agriculture, we must find a way of adding value to the products from the farms.
“Basically, whatever we do, we should ensure we put some element of industrialization to it. It is not enough to say that we are into agriculture if we have not got into adding value to it in terms of industrialization. The value chain production through mechanization should be enhanced, this will better our agricultural production, processing and add value to the products as raw materials. Doing this will not only increase the employment opportunities, but also bring about abundant food and importantly build the economy”
The indigene of Orile-Owu in Ayedaade-South Local Council Development Area, also spoke on the issues related to education and described the infrastructural development by the present administration of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as highly commendable, but can only be likened to an “hardware” that requires the re-energizing and rebranding of the “software” installed in them.
He said “Currently, what has happened in the areas of education can still be regarded as the foundation. I see those beautiful infrastructures as what should be adequately taken care of and the proper maintenance be made sacrosanct. We will further stimulate the interest of the students to learning, to enhance the quality production level of education ”
The one-time renowned teacher, assured that the welfare of the teachers will be adequately improved to steer the required motivation in improving the educational quality and standard in the state. He further stated that training and re-training of the teachers will be timely and continually enhanced.
Oyemomi commended the administration of Ogbeni Aregbesola for his giant strides in bringing Osun to the limelight and promise to build on the legacy to make Osun an enviable state amongst its counterpart globally.
