Osun Gubernatorial candidate, Benedict Olugboyega Alabi has applauded President Muhammadu Buhari for declaring June 12 as the nation’s Democracy Day.
The governorship aspirant made this known in a press release at Osogbo on Thursday.
Alabi also congratulated the people of Osun and Nigerians on this year’s over this declaration and added that Osun State has taken the lead since the beginning of administration of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.
He said “said our democracy had come to stay, adding that its worst form is better than the best other forms of government”.
Benedict Olugboyega Alabi said that some corrupt individuals and unscrupulous politicians meeting with the top military brass should be cautious, “as the world has moved beyond military rule ”
BOA noted that he was not convinced that May 29 was the real Democracy Day, but June 12, 1993, when the nation witnessed the most credible election in the history of Nigeria.
He however, charged all politicians to show Compassions to the poor and strive to bail out people in need as a mark of responsible leadership.
He task the people to engage the political class with issue of general interests, saying this would put them on their toes.
