AS FOR ME AND MY FAMILY, WE WILL SUPPORT OTOBONG BOB
The above phrase is very familiar, particularly to Christians. It is the statement of loyalty, commitment and devotion made by Joshua at a time when the children of Israel were confused about what they wanted. Some were not very sure of whether they should serve Jehovah or not. But Joshua did not mince his words. He boldly declared “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord “. That was the end of the story. He excelled more than his equals because he knew what he wanted and made the right decision.
One thing is to know the right thing, and another is to have the courage to make decisions that are in consonance with the right thing so acknowledged.
In the political terrain of this country, many people know the truth. They know the party they should join and support, but lack the courage to stand by the conviction.
It is no longer news that many people who are running to the APC today are doing so out of intimidation. They are afraid of the political witch-hunting going on. They chose to shift their loyalty in order to live another day.
But as for me and my house, we will stand for the PDP. As for me and my house, we will support Gov. Udom Emmanuel. As for me and my house, we will stand by Barr. Otobong Bob, PDP flagbearer for Nsit Ubium State constituency.
No matter the political storm, no matter the intimidation from the opposition, our loyalty and devotion is for Barr. Otobong Bob in particular, and the PDP family in general.
We need another Joshua in this generation. Those who will be courageous to stand by what is right, just and good, not matter the consequences.
Barr. Bob and the PDP candidates are sellable products. They have what it takes to move the state forward. Come out boldly and declare your unalloyed support to them. But as for me and my house, we will stand by Barr. Otobong Bob and the Peoples Democratic Party, period.
