Portugal and Juventus forward, Cristiano Ronaldo has made it clear that he is proud of himself being the best player in the Italian Serie A after losing the 2019 Ballon d’Or award to his fiercest rival, Lionel Messi.

Barcelona star Lionel Messi won his sixth Ballon d’Or award on Monday, November 2, beating biggest rival Cristiano Ronaldo and Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk.

Ronaldo shunned the ceremony in Paris, but instead attended the award night in Italy where he was named the best player for the 2018/19 season.

Last season during Cristiano Ronaldo’s debut season with Juventus, the former Real Madrid star scored 26 goals for the Old Lady to win the Serie A.

“I’m proud to be the best player in Serie A.

“I thank my teammates and everyone who voted for me. Now I’ll work to be here again next year,” Ronaldo was quoted by Marca as saying.
