The Osun Online Media Practitioners’ Association (OOMPA), has commended Governor Gboyega Oyetola for appointing its Vice Chairman, Olufunke Olutumbi as a Special Assistant on media to the Governor.
The association in a statement by its Chairman, Jare Tiamiyu and publicity secretary, Bright Olorungbotemi joined other well-wishers to felicitate with Olutunmibi, who is publisher of News Indicator, on her recent appointment.
The association described the appointment of Olutumbi as a welcome development for practising online journalists in the state, stating that the competence of Olutumbi to deliver is not in doubt.
Before her appointment, Mrs Olutunmibi Olufunke was serving as the Vice Chairman of the Osun online media Practitioners Association.
According to the association, the appointment of Mrs Olufunke was a reward of her commitment and dedication with media service, “Olufunke had over the years carved a niche for herself in reportorial assignments in the media world and development of the state.
“OOMPA appreciates Governor Oyetola for considering a practising online media expert from our fold for such appointment. The governor has demonstrated his penchant for competence and empowerment of young minds in the State.
“We believe that Olufunke is a round peg in round hole and we believe she will add value to the present government.”
