Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has warned transport unions leaders to shun violence among within their members.

The Governor in a release on Monday, by Mallam Olawale Rasheed, his spokesperson, warned the transport workers to maintain peace among themselves.

“All union leaders and their supporters are hereby directed to remain calm and bring any grievances to the State Government for resolution” he said.

SP Yemisi Opalola, Public Relations Officer, Osun State Police command who spoke with InsightMedia via telephone said that the Police are on top of the violence that erupted in some parts of Osogbo, the State capital on Monday.

Some residents and motorists were left scampering for their lives at Old Garage, Oke-Fia and Aregbe areas of Osogbo as transport workers engaged in fierce battle in those areas.
