Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar was on Wednesday in Osogbo as his campaign trail lands in Osun State where he promised to work with Senator Ademola Adeleke to tackle economic, security and other challenges facing the country.

Atiku, while addressing the party faithful at the Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, said he understands the challenges facing the people of the State and the country.

“I have only come to thank you for what you have done. You are a wonderful people for returning PDP to power in the last state election and I believe returning PDP to power will strengthen this State,” Atiku said.

“Let me tell you that by voting PDP to power in the next general election because a federal government controlled by PDP and state government controlled by PDP in Osun state is for  the greater Osun. That is the only way you can secure your country in the future of your children and we promise you we will not fail you.

“We are not like APC because we have done it before and we have experience to vote the people who have the capacity to bring about changes we are not new as far as governance is concerned in Nigeria. I’ll work with Adeleke to build Osun State and tackle economic, security and other challenges facing you as a people and this country.”

In his address, Governor Ademola Adeleke called on Osun electorates to come out en masse to vote for the PDP.

Adeleke also presented the former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and candidate of the Labour Party in the last governorship election, Lasun Yussuff to the National Chairman of the PDP, Dr Iyorchia Ayu for official unveiling.

Lasun, who hauls from Ilobu, Irepodun local government, reportedly joined the PDP with his supporters.
