The Deputy National Woman Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mrs Hajara Wanka, has tendered her resignation from the position.
Wanka made this known on Tuesday in her resignation letter addressed to the acting National Chairman of the party, Umar Damagum.
Waka said she was quitting her role in the running of the PDP at the national level to serve as commissioner in Bauchi State following her nomination by Governor Bala Mohammed.
She thanked the Damagum-led National Working Committee for the privilege given to her to serve and also expressed appreciation to the governor for finding her worthy to serve in his government.
The experience garnered over the past few years working for the party, she added, would guide her in her new role in Bauchi State.
Spokesman for the PDP, Debo Ologunagba, had earlier congratulated Wanka for her appointment and wished her well in her new job.
