Kwara State High Court has sentenced five suspects to death for their involvement in the infamous Offa bank robbery, which resulted in multiple fatalities and widespread destruction.
The suspects were found guilty of illegal possession of firearms, armed robbery, and culpable homicide in connection with the 2018 heist, one of the deadliest bank robberies in Nigeria’s history.
Justice Haleemah Salman pronounced the sentence on Thursday.
The Offa Banks attack left at least 33 people dead, including police officers and children.
