
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, alongside prominent members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has launched a new coalition against President Bola Tinubu as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.
At a press conference currently underway, several opposition leaders have shown support, including Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi (represented by Yunusa Tanko), former Secretary to the Government of the Federation Babachir Lawal, ex-Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, National Secretary of the Coalition of United Political Parties Peter Ahmeh, and Segun Showunmi, Convenor of the Alternative, among others.
Some notable figures who could not attend, including former Governors Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers) and Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti), as well as former APC National Chairman Abdullahi Adamu, sent their apologies.
