The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has said it is actively reviewing the numerous complaints received following the release of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results.
In a statement issued on Monday by its Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the Board acknowledged what it described as “a significant volume of unusual complaints” from candidates, particularly from select states across the country.
JAMB said it has initiated a thorough investigation to identify and resolve any potential technical issues that may have affected the conduct or outcome of the examination. As part of this process, the Board has brought in a team of experts from various fields, including the Computer Professionals Association of Nigeria, chief external examiners who are heads of tertiary institutions, the Educational Assessment and Research Network in Africa, measurement specialists, and vice chancellors from several universities.
“To address these concerns, the Board is fast-tracking its annual system review—an in-depth evaluation typically conducted months after each examination cycle,” Benjamin stated. “This review covers all critical phases: registration, examination, and the release of results.”
He added that JAMB maintains a strict protocol to ensure all candidates are given the opportunity to sit for the UTME, and that any disruptions due to technical issues are immediately addressed through rescheduling.
“If our investigation confirms the presence of any technical glitches, we will implement the necessary corrective measures without delay—just as we do during the examination process itself,” he assured.
The Board emphasized its commitment to fairness, transparency, and maintaining the integrity of the examination process, promising timely resolution of any confirmed issues.
