The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) will release the 2025 UTME results on Friday, May 9, during an event at its National Headquarters in Bwari, Abuja, beginning at 8am.
In a statement JAMB revealed that of the 1.9 million candidates who sat for the exam, over 1.5 million scored below 200 on the 400-point scale.
The UTME tests candidates in four subjects, with Use of English mandatory. The other three subjects depend on the candidate’s intended course of study.
Commenting on the results, Education Minister Dr. Tunji Alausa said the performance reflects the success of efforts to curb exam malpractice.
“The high failure rate shows that our crackdown on malpractice, especially in JAMB’s system, is working,” he said.
