A group of heavily armed kidnappers has taken over Grow Homes Estate in the Chikakore neighbourhood of Kubwa, Abuja’s largest suburban town, and is keeping citizens hostage for more than an hour.
According to concerned homeowners, the incident happened between 12 and 1:30 a.m. on Monday morning.
One of the residents stated he saw the kidnappers take a guy and a woman away.
However, by daylight, the woman was discovered within the mansion, having been released by her captors for unknown reasons.
At the time of reporting this story, the precise number of abducted victims was unknown. “The incident happened at 12 a.m.
Those individuals were well-armed, and they outnumbered the local security personnel.
“The police came at about 1am, and there was a fierce exchange of gunfire for about 30 minutes.
“We are begging the government to fix this road for easy access for security patrol vehicles. We also beg the police and, of course, the FCT Administration to help site a station here for rapid response,” a resident said.
