The former Chairman of the Nigerian-American Public Affairs Committee (NAPAC), Texas, Mr. Ike Chidolue, has called on suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan to back her recent allegations with verifiable evidence or resign.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, recently accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello of plotting her assassination.

Her claims emerged in reaction to a viral Facebook Live session aired on May 1 by Dr. Sandra Duru (aka Prof. Mgbeke), which featured leaked audio clips and screenshots contradicting some of the senator’s previous statements. Akpoti-Uduaghan dismissed the materials as doctored and politically driven.

In a statement from Abuja on Sunday, Chidolue criticized her response as lacking substance: “Her post offered no facts, no forensic backing, and no credibility. This is a recurring pattern bold accusations followed by deflections and conspiracy theories.”

He noted that if the materials shared by Duru are authentic, they reveal a disturbing trend of using unsubstantiated claims for political leverage.

Chidolue cited several of Akpoti-Uduaghan’s earlier allegations ranging from sexual harassment by Akpabio to an alleged murder cover-up involving Bello all lacking corroboration from police investigations, sworn affidavits, or Senate documentation.

“Whenever challenged, her strategy is to attack the messenger and evade accountability,” he added.

Chidolue proposed a four-step path to restore public confidence. Submit the leaked materials for forensic authentication, provide concrete evidence such as police or court records to support each claim, initiate legal proceedings if she believes she has been defamed, if unable to meet these conditions, issue a public apology and resign.

“This is not about drama or distraction. Nigerians deserve leadership grounded in facts. Prove the claims or step aside,” Chidolue concluded.
