It was a historic day in terms of Community Engagement and commitment to Social Welfare in Ila-Orangun on Monday as Hon. Adetunji Ajala, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community and Grassroot Engagement, commenced the “Impact the Vulnerable Grassroot Children Initiative”.

The first phase of the project was birtged at St. Mathew Anglican Primary School, Ila orangun.

The initiative aimed to empower vulnerable grassroot children by providing them with essential educational materials, mentoring and tutelage, was sponsored by the Governor’s aide.

The program saw to the distribution of school uniforms, footwear, schoolbags, notebooks  and other learning materials to over 200 pupils from 24 primary schools across Ila local government areas.

According to Ajala, the initiative is expected to go round across the nine federal constituencies, stating that the project falls directly under the vision of Governor Ademola Adeleke for education advancement in Osun State.

“The initiative is expected to have a lasting impact on the lives of the beneficiaries and gear them towards academic excellence.” Ajala said.

He also reaffirmed the support of Governor Adeleke to supporting vulnerable children, leaving no one behind and promoting education as a key driver of social mobility and civilization.

The event was graced by notable dignitaries, including Ejemu of Ila, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Affairs, Hon. Aare Mojeed Oyeniyi, Hon. Babawale Popoola, Mr Moses the technical Assistant to the Commissioner of Youth Affairs, legislative aides, Local Government education board representatives,among others. Their presence underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in driving positive change in the community.
