The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, has called on Nigerians to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and support his bid for a second term in office, drawing a parallel between the country’s current challenges and the spirit of sacrifice symbolized by Prophet Ibrahim during Eid-el-Kabir.

Speaking at the Eid prayer ground in Iwo, Osun State, the monarch acknowledged the prevailing economic difficulties but described them as necessary sacrifices for Nigeria’s long-term recovery.

He emphasized that President Tinubu is taking bold steps where past administrations failed to act.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Alli Ibraheem, Oba Akanbi stated, “True patriots must stand by the truth and support President Tinubu’s second term. His decisive reforms are critical to restoring Nigeria’s former greatness.”

He applauded Tinubu’s removal of the fuel subsidy, describing it as a brave and essential decision, and praised the President for placing national interest above political convenience.

“Tinubu is a trailblazing leader,” the monarch said. “Even former skeptics are beginning to recognize the impact of his efforts. The train of progress has left the station those who resist it will be left behind.”

Oba Akanbi urged citizens to remain patient and optimistic, pointing to early signs of economic recovery, such as wage adjustments and a gradual easing of food prices.
