Oleksandr Usyk solidified his place in boxing history on Saturday night with a stunning fifth-round knockout of Daniel Dubois, becoming the undisputed world heavyweight champion at Wembley Stadium in London.
The Ukrainian star, now 38, extended his unbeaten professional record to 24 fights. He added the IBF title previously held by Dubois to his collection, which already included the WBA, WBC, and WBO belts.
Usyk dominated from the opening bell, outclassing the younger British fighter across four rounds. Early in the fifth, he floored Dubois with a sharp combination and moments later sealed victory with a powerful left hook that ended the fight at 1:52 of the round.
This marks Usyk’s second win over Dubois, having previously stopped him in the ninth round in 2023, a bout marked by controversy over an alleged low blow.
Speaking after the fight, an emotional Usyk dropped to his knees in celebration. “Thirty-eight is a young guy only the beginning,” he told DAZN. “Thank you to Jesus Christ, my team, and to Wembley. This is for the people.”
When asked about his next opponent, Usyk was noncommittal: “Maybe Tyson Fury. Maybe Chisora. Maybe Anthony Joshua or Joseph Parker. But right now, I just want to rest with my family.”
The atmosphere at Wembley was electric, with a 90,000-strong crowd—many waving Ukrainian flags—cheering on their hero in what turned out to be a one-sided masterclass.
Despite the loss, Dubois showed sportsmanship and vowed to return. “I gave everything I had. Credit to Usyk for a great performance. I’ll be back.”
