The 2023 Presidential Candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has declared that he has no intention of dumping the party ahead of the 2027 general elections, though he remains open to dialogue and negotiations with other stakeholders.

Speaking at the party’s 9th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja, Kwankwaso dismissed speculations that he was planning to leave the NNPP for another platform.

“Some people expected that today I would announce whether I’m leaving NNPP or joining another party. That was never the purpose of this meeting. We have our party, we are happy and comfortable here,” he said.

Kwankwaso stressed that the NNPP was in no rush to make hasty political moves, insisting the party was steadily building its structures and membership base across the country.

“We are flexible and open to discussions with anyone, but any negotiation will be collective. Our focus is to remain fair, transparent, and inclusive,” he added.

Earlier, the National Chairman of NNPP, Dr. Ajuji Ahmed, reaffirmed the party’s commitment to presenting Kwankwaso as its presidential candidate in 2027.

Describing the NNPP as the “beautiful bride” of Nigerian politics, Ahmed said the party was gaining strength and recognition nationwide, positioning itself as a major force ahead of the next general elections.
