Nigerian international and Atalanta winger, Ademola Lookman, has intensified speculation over his future after missing training for the third consecutive day in a bid to force a move to Inter Milan.
According to reports by TouchlineX, Lookman, who had already been absent on Monday and Tuesday, again failed to report for training on Wednesday. The 28-year-old is said to have left Italy entirely after submitting a formal transfer request last weekend.
Lookman has reportedly agreed personal terms with Inter Milan, but Atalanta rejected the Nerazzurri’s €45 million offer for the player. Despite the rejection, Lookman appears determined to secure the transfer and is continuing his absence in protest, hoping it will pressure the club into reconsidering their stance.
The Nigerian star, who still has two years remaining on his contract with the Bergamo side, played a crucial role in Atalanta’s UEFA Europa League triumph last season scoring a memorable hat-trick in the final against Bayer Leverkusen.
As the summer transfer window progresses, all eyes are now on Atalanta’s response and whether they will be willing to negotiate a deal further with Inter.
