The Akinmusere brothers were apprehended on Saturday, October 11, 2025, after officers from the Divisional Police Office in Ore acted on a credible tip-off.

The command, in a statement on Sunday by DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, the command’s spokesperson, said weapons, including locally fabricated pistol and one live cartridge, were recovered in a raid of the suspect’s hideout.

“Acting on a credible tip-off from a reliable source, on Saturday, 11th October 2025, at about 5:15 p.m., the Divisional Police Officer, Ore, led his team to raid a mechanic workshop located off Okitipupa Road, Ore,” the statement read.

“During the operation, two suspects — one Monday Akinmusere and Oluwaseun Akinmusere, both males and residents of Ore — were arrested.

“A thorough search of the premises led to the recovery of a locally fabricated pistol with one live cartridge.”

The statement added, “The suspects are currently in custody, and investigations are ongoing to unravel the source of the firearm and ascertain possible links with other criminal elements in the area.”

Commissioner of Police Adebowale Lawal commended the officers for their swift and professional response.
